Each painted rock gets a unique code. When someone finds it and enters the code in the RoxGeo app or on roxgeo.com, a GPS-verified check-in is recorded, showing the rock's location on an interactive journey map.

What is a RoxGeo rock code?

A RoxGeo code is a short alphanumeric identifier (e.g. ROX + 6 characters) written on the back of a rock. Finders enter it in the app or on the website to log their find and reveal the rock's full journey.

Does RoxGeo use continuous GPS tracking?

No. GPS is used only at the moment of check-in — when someone hides or finds a rock. RoxGeo does not continuously track user locations, ensuring privacy for all users.

Can I see where my rock has traveled?

Yes. Every rock has a Journey page showing all GPS check-in locations on an interactive map, along with the dates, emoji reactions, and total distance traveled.

Does rock tracking work without the mobile app?

Yes. Rock codes can be entered at roxgeo.com in any web browser. The free mobile app for iOS and Android provides a richer experience with GPS check-ins, push notifications, and journey visualization.
