Peace Sign Rock Painting
Materials Needed
- Round, flat rock (palm-sized)
- White acrylic paint
- Purple, blue, pink, and yellow acrylic paint
- Black acrylic paint
- Medium flat brush
- Fine detail brush
- Clear sealant spray
- Paper plate (for palette)
Step-by-Step Instructions
Step 1: Prepare and base coat
Wash and dry your rock thoroughly. Paint the entire surface white and let it dry completely. A round, flat rock works best for a peace sign design.
Step 2: Create the tie-dye background
Using purple, blue, pink, and yellow paints, create a swirled tie-dye background on the white surface. Blend colors together where they meet for a groovy, colorful effect. Let dry completely.
Step 3: Draw the peace symbol
Using black paint and your detail brush, draw a circle that fills most of the rock surface. Then draw a vertical line from top to bottom through the center of the circle. Add two diagonal lines from the center going down to the lower edges of the circle, forming the peace sign.
Step 4: Thicken and refine the lines
Go over the peace symbol lines again to make them thicker and more even. Use a steady hand and take your time. The lines should be bold enough to stand out against the colorful background.
Step 5: Seal and share peace
Once fully dry, apply a coat of clear sealant spray to protect the paint. Your peace rock is ready to spread a message of love and harmony! Hide it somewhere meaningful.
Step 6: Add RoxGeo Code
On the bottom or back of your rock, write ROXGEO.COM followed by a slash and your rock’s unique code (e.g. ROXGEO.COM/ABC123). This lets the finder go directly to your rock’s profile page and log their discovery. If the rock is too small for the full address, write #ROX followed by the code without spaces (e.g. #ROXABC123) — it’s short, easy to search on Google, and leads straight to your rock’s journey page. Use a fine-tip permanent marker or acrylic paint pen, and seal it with clear varnish so the code stays readable through rain, sun, and adventure.
Helpful Tips
- Use a round rock for the most natural-looking peace sign circle.
- Sketch the peace symbol lightly with pencil before painting over it.
- Blend tie-dye colors while still wet for the best swirl effect.
- Make the black lines thick enough to stand out against the colorful background.
- This rock makes a great gift to spread positivity and kindness.
- For the RoxGeo code on the bottom, use a waterproof permanent marker (like Sharpie) or an acrylic paint pen. Apply 2–3 coats of clear sealant over the code — this keeps it readable through rain, sun, and handling for months.
- Writing #ROXCODE (e.g. #ROXABC123) on your rock makes it easy to find via Google search. We actively optimize for this hashtag, so anyone who searches for it will find your rock’s profile page quickly.
- The full address ROXGEO.COM/CODE takes the finder directly to your rock’s card, where they can see its full travel history, previous finders, and photos from every stop on its journey.
