Strawberry Rock Painting
Materials Needed
- Small, heart-shaped or oval rock
- Red acrylic paint
- Green acrylic paint
- Yellow or white acrylic paint
- Black acrylic paint (optional, for seeds)
- Medium flat brush
- Fine detail brush or toothpick
- Clear sealant spray
Step-by-Step Instructions
Step 1: Prepare the rock
Wash and dry your rock. A rock shaped like a rounded triangle or heart works perfectly for a strawberry. The pointed end will be the bottom of the berry.
Step 2: Paint the berry red
Paint the entire rock with bright red acrylic paint. Apply two coats for a rich, even strawberry color. Let each coat dry completely before adding the next.
Step 3: Add the seeds
Using yellow or white paint and a toothpick or fine brush, add tiny oval-shaped seeds all over the red surface. Space them evenly in diagonal rows for a realistic strawberry look.
Step 4: Paint the green top
At the wider end of the rock, paint a green cap with small leaf-shaped points extending outward like a star. This is the strawberry calyx. Make 5-6 small pointed leaves.
Step 5: Finish and seal
Once everything is dry, you can add a tiny green stem at the very top. Spray with clear sealant to protect your strawberry rock. It looks good enough to eat!
Step 6: Add RoxGeo Code
On the bottom or back of your rock, write ROXGEO.COM followed by a slash and your rock’s unique code (e.g. ROXGEO.COM/ABC123). This lets the finder go directly to your rock’s profile page and log their discovery. If the rock is too small for the full address, write #ROX followed by the code without spaces (e.g. #ROXABC123) — it’s short, easy to search on Google, and leads straight to your rock’s journey page. Use a fine-tip permanent marker or acrylic paint pen, and seal it with clear varnish so the code stays readable through rain, sun, and adventure.
Helpful Tips
- Heart-shaped or triangular rocks make the most realistic strawberries.
- Use a toothpick dipped in yellow paint for perfectly tiny seeds.
- Paint a group of different-sized rocks for a strawberry patch collection.
- Add a touch of lighter red or pink at the tip for a realistic ripening effect.
- These make adorable play-kitchen props or garden decorations!
- For the RoxGeo code on the bottom, use a waterproof permanent marker (like Sharpie) or an acrylic paint pen. Apply 2–3 coats of clear sealant over the code — this keeps it readable through rain, sun, and handling for months.
- Writing #ROXCODE (e.g. #ROXABC123) on your rock makes it easy to find via Google search. We actively optimize for this hashtag, so anyone who searches for it will find your rock’s profile page quickly.
- The full address ROXGEO.COM/CODE takes the finder directly to your rock’s card, where they can see its full travel history, previous finders, and photos from every stop on its journey.
