Step-by-Step Instructions

1

Step 1: Paint an explosion of rainbow colors

Wash and dry your rock. Start with a bright yellow center dot. Working outward from center, add wedge-shaped sections of each color — hot pink, orange, turquoise, and purple — radiating in all directions like a paint explosion or firework burst. The design should look like a joyful starburst of color.

2

Step 2: Blend and define color sections

While the colors are slightly wet, blend the edges where different sections meet for a watercolor-like flow. Or keep sharp boundaries for a graphic, bold look. Both approaches work — choose the style that feels most joyful to you. Add a second coat to any sections that look too light.

3

Step 3: Add radiating ray lines

Using white paint and a fine brush, draw thin lines radiating outward from the center dot, like sun rays extending between and through the color sections. These white lines add energy, movement, and a celebratory sparkle to the already joyful design.

4

Step 4: Add stars, dots, and sparkle details

Using a toothpick and white paint, add tiny dots scattered across the rock — some alone, some in clusters of two or three. Add small four-pointed star shapes in the spaces between the rays. These sparkle details make the design feel like a burst of joy and celebration.

5

Step 5: Seal with gloss for maximum joyfulness

Apply a gloss sealant to make all the colors pop and shine to their fullest. The gloss finish amplifies the joyful, celebratory feeling of the design. Your joy burst rock is ready to spread happiness wherever it goes!

Step 6: Add RoxGeo Code

On the bottom or back of your rock, write ROXGEO.COM followed by a slash and your rock’s unique code (e.g. ROXGEO.COM/ABC123). This lets the finder go directly to your rock’s profile page and log their discovery. If the rock is too small for the full address, write #ROX followed by the code without spaces (e.g. #ROXABC123) — it’s short, easy to search on Google, and leads straight to your rock’s journey page. Use a fine-tip permanent marker or acrylic paint pen, and seal it with clear varnish so the code stays readable through rain, sun, and adventure.
